This has been years in the making. I have wanted to write a blog on infosec and related topics for a while now.

For one, it gives me an opportunity to practice writing, which is something I rather enjoy doing. For another reason, it allows me to organize my thoughts on a wide range of topics including my frustrations or hesitations towards certain movements in the community and industry.

Another reason for starting this blog is that there is an internal voice within my meat skull that constantly tells me “You aren’t doing enough. You aren’t contributing to the community. Look at what everyone else is doing and you aren’t.”

That same voice comes around to my other ear and says “No one will listen to you. What do you know? You know nothing! People dont care about what you have to say. Oh, you want to write about that? That’s kinda basic, don’t you think? People will realize you’re just a noob and know nothing about infosec if you try to submit that.”

I’m tired of listening to that voice and staying silent about it. I’m tired of capitulating to my fears of strawmen who apparently don’t value my voice. I’m tired of doing nothing while those who are causing harm in this community, industry, and field get accolades and recognition depsite being terrible people.

I hope you will come to enjoy returning to this part of the ether to stare and see what comes of it. Who knows? Perhaps one day you will revisit this page and see some research that helped you stop a bad actor. Perhaps you’ll start your own security program and something here helps you think through that in some way. Maybe you’ll see something interesting and want to start a conversation.

Regardless of if you come back or not, I believe this blog is the start of something beautiful for me.
